Coreopsis

This chance seedling of C. tripteris x C. verticillata was a star in Mt. Cuba Center's trials, blooming up to 18 weeks from summer into fall. Masses of golden blooms appear on tall, sturdy stems lined with green, threadleaf, mildew resistant foliage. Nativar. Height reflects size in trials; some report it to be shorter. Introduced by: Plants Nouveau.

Similar in habit and garden performance to the UpTickª series, this much larger flowered, light yellow and burgundy bicolor selection blooms for months without deadheading. Its mildew resistant, finely textured, bright green foliage forms a low, compact mound that presents well in containers. Nativar. Breeder: Darwin Perennials.

Winners of numerous industry and trial awards, UpTick Coreopsis are quick to finish, very resistant to powdery mildew, and require no vernalization or PGRs in production. Their dark green foliage is neatly mounded, maintaining their shape naturally throughout the season as they bloom continuously with impressively large flowers. Cream & Red bears clear cream flowers with a sharply contrasting, burgundy eye. This native cultivar is attractive to pollinators, but not to deer. It's a must-have for every sunny landscape. Breeder: Darwin Perennials
