Sage-Meadow

Growers looking to add more color to their spring lineup will appreciate this new Salvia for its early bloom time, a good 10-14 days earlier than 'May Night'. Its prolific, deep violet blue flower spikes help it stand out on retail benches and in landscapes. Cut it back after flowering and watch it reflush easily multiple times per season. Breeder: Darwin Perennials.

Grower Information

Salvia is an excellent crop for late spring to early summer sales. Plant the plugs in spring and grow them under poly to protect against excessive spring rains. The crop will grow best in moist, well-drained soil and does not tolerate overly moist or wet conditions which promote crown and root rots. Once established, finish with average to dry moisture levels. Removing spent flowers will encourage a longer season of bloom.
