This exceptionally dark form features fernlike, maroon foliage in spring and fall, transitioning to deep green in summer. Clusters of relatively large, soft violet blue flowers appear well above the foliage in spring; may rebloom if deadheaded. Excellent spring retail appeal. Best in rich, cool, moist soil.
