Perovskia atriplicifolia 'Little Spire'

Russian Sage

A bit shorter than the species, this selection maintains a more compact, upright habit in the landscape. Large panicles of lavender blue flowers appear for several months and are excellent for cutting. Small, aromatic, gray-green leaves are rarely bothered by pests. Thrives in heat.

Grower Information

To produce full pots of Perovskia, we recommend planting our 32ct PowerPlugs in true gallon pots in late summer the year prior to sale. Pinch two weeks after transplant; a second pinch may be necessary. Use a peat/bark mix with a 5.8-6.5 pH, keeping it moderately moist to slightly dry during production. High light and adequate spacing will keep plants more compact. Grow at 68-72 degrees F and overwinter in a minimally heated greenhouse for best results.
