This fragrant, native iris can be found growing in moist to wet soils across much of the Eastern U.S. Its 3.5Ó flowers vary from light blue to deep violet with a yellow and white blotch and purple veining on the lower petals. It is easy to grow in rich, clay or sandy soils wherever consistent moisture is available.
