Centranthus ruber 'Coccineus'

Red Valerian, Jupiter's Beard

Extremely easy to grow in dry, poor, limey soils, this long blooming perennial is best for naturalized areas where it can be allowed to reseed. Deadheading will prolong the bloom time. Clusters of showy, cherry red to carmine pink flowers are a magnet for butterflies and are long-lasting in cut flower bouquets.
