Native to moist woodlands in Eastern North America, this critter resistant spring wildflower produces bright yellow, 1-2” diameter, poppy-like blooms that open from silver felted buds above the fresh green foliage. Best in rich, moist soil; may go summer dormant in drought conditions. Naturalizes in optimum environments.
