Sesleria

Discovered at John Greenlee's nursery in California; thought to be a hybrid of S. autumnalis x S. caerulea. Low mounding, cool-season, evergreen grass with blue-green foliage and silvery inflorescences held above the foliage. A low maintenance groundcover for tough urban sites and meadows; good for erosion control and tolerates drought in cooler climates.

This easy-to-grow, cool season meadow grass is a low maintenance solution for mass plantings in a wide range of soil types, tolerating some drought once established. Its yellow-green foliage is clump forming, topped with narrow inflorescences that appear in early summer and persist through fall.
