Lamium
This taller Lamium bears showy clusters of bright orchid purple flowers over a fluffy mound of silvery green foliage in spring. Excellent for masking dying bulb foliage; merchandise with potted tulips on spring endcaps. One of few plants that will thrive under tree canopies. Introduced by: Intrinsic Perennial Gardens
Completely unlike groundcover Lamiums, this species forms an upright, non-spreading clump of solid green, toothed, heart-shaped leaves on unbranched stems. Whorls of pretty mauve pink, spotted, two-lipped flowers appear in spring. Great for mixing with finely textured perennials in shade gardens. This deeply rooted species prefers cool, moist soils.
