This unique native forb, which is a host for the American Painted Lady butterfly, produces clusters of rounded, white blooms on slender stalks atop a basal mound of velvety green, paddle-shaped leaves. Plants are dioecious; male flowers are slightly shorter. Spreads by stolons to form a small scale groundcover. Requires lean, well-drained, acidic soil.
