A virtually maintenance-free groundcover for moist, woodland gardens. Heart-shaped, velvety green leaves are stemless, hugging the ground and hiding the unique maroon-brown flowers. Native to the eastern half of the U.S. and Canada; a food source for the pipevine swallowtail butterfly. (Offered in a special 21ct size)
This vigorously spreading species forms a thick mat of large, glossy, deep green leaves that are heavily mottled with metallic silver. Foliage is evergreen to 10¡F; will reappear in spring if it dies back. Interesting deep purple-brown flowers appear at ground level under the leaves.
